About the Author
Jill Kelly Koren is a poet and a full-time
mother. She studied English and pre-medicine at Yale and earned a Master’s of Fine Arts degree in Creative
Writing from Spalding University. Her
poems have appeared in The Louisville
Review, Women. Period., Literary Mama and the poetry podcast Red Lion Sq.. Her chapbook, While the Water Rises Around Us, was published in 2011.
Koren is Assistant Professor of English at Ivy Tech Community College in Madison, Indiana, where she lives with her
husband, emeka, and their two children, Sonny and Esphyr. The Work of the Body, published by Dos Madres Press, is
her first full-length collection, .
